Leather Care
Four rules. Follow them and the bag ages the way it should — softer grain, sharper character, same structure.
1. Keep it dry
Pebbled leather handles light rain, but standing water leaves marks. Blot — never rub — with a dry cotton cloth and let the bag dry away from direct heat or sunlight.
2. Clean gently
Wipe the exterior with a soft, barely damp cloth every few weeks. Avoid alcohol, solvents, baby wipes and household cleaners; they strip the finish. For a deeper clean, use a leather-specific cleaner and test on the base first.
3. Protect the hardware
Champagne-gold hardware is plated. Keep perfume, hairspray and hand sanitiser off it, and buff with a dry microfibre cloth to restore the shine.
4. Store it with shape
Fill the bag with tissue or a soft cloth, close the fastenings and keep it upright in its dust bag. Never store leather in plastic — it traps moisture.
Everyday habits that help
- Rotate between bags so leather can rest and recover.
- Set the bag on a chair or hook rather than the floor.
- Empty pens and cosmetics into a pouch to protect the lining.
- Deal with marks quickly — fresh marks lift, set marks rarely do.
